Mine Feasibility & Project Assessment

Understand what would have to be true for a mining project to work. MineForce evaluates practical development alternatives, mine infrastructure and operating assumptions before owners or investors commit to the next stage.

Test the operating concept before the capital commitment

A credible project assessment connects the mining method to the production schedule, processing assumptions, infrastructure and cost model. MineForce reviews whether these parts describe the same operating scenario. A plant’s nameplate capacity, for example, does not establish the mine’s sustainable output when feed availability, maintenance or utilities constrain performance.

The review distinguishes documented facts from forecasts and unsupported assumptions. An early assessment is particularly useful when comparing an acquisition, an idle mine restart, alternative development sequences or a proposed expansion.

What the assessment can examine

  • Mining and processing assumptions, production scenarios and their supporting evidence.
  • Condition and suitability of access, surface facilities, power, water and processing infrastructure.
  • Capital expenditure requirements, rehabilitation work, replacement equipment and development lead times.
  • Operating expenditure assumptions, staffing, maintenance, consumables and contractor dependencies.
  • Practical development alternatives, sequencing and interfaces between mine and processing activities.
  • Operating constraints, permitting dependencies, safety considerations and unresolved technical questions.

Compare scenarios and show the limits of the evidence

Where information supports it, an assessment can compare production cases and examine the effect of changes in throughput, recovery assumptions, costs, ramp-up timing and capital requirements. The purpose is to show which variables could alter viability and which need further investigation. Assumed recovery must be supported by suitable metallurgical evidence; a spreadsheet cannot establish it.

Potential outputs are defined in the engagement and may include an assumptions register, development alternatives, key cost drivers and a sequence of further investigations. A due diligence review can place those findings in an acquisition context.

Consultant assessments and formal feasibility studies

MineForce provides consultant-level project and feasibility assessments within the agreed scope. These are not represented as certified mineral resource or reserve estimates, securities disclosure technical reports, bankable feasibility studies or engineering documents requiring professional seals. A formal reporting standard, lender requirement or jurisdiction may require appropriately qualified specialists and professional sign-off, which must be established separately.

When should a mine owner request an assessment?

Before committing acquisition funds, selecting a restart approach, approving major capital work or relying on an unfamiliar operating forecast. The most useful time is while alternatives are still open and the review can change the decision. Start with the available records and the specific commitment under consideration.
